Quest Resort - Ngerur Island, Palau

		Quest Resort is planned as a high-end luxury resort on a 5-hectare island. The owner required the design team make preservation of the environment and natural beauty our highest priority. Coordinating the technical elements with the engineers, TC&M worked with the architect and operator to develop a master plan for the resort's guest facilities. TC&M located all of the guest buildings based on our on-site observations and a detailed topographic survey. The design included a multi-level swimming pool with spa facilities. The design worked carefully with the existing conditions while creating a unique and luxurious resort experience.

Palau is noted for its diving and water sports. This photo of a lagoon at the Quest Resort site shows the clarity of the water and the beauty of the coral.		One of the biggest design challenges was planning the utility systems for this undeveloped island. To minimize impact to the ecology, all of the utilities on the island will be located under the walkways. Power and fiber optic communications service will be brought to the island through an armored submarine cable from main island. The underwater route was carefully planned to protect the coral. Water filtration and wastewater treatment will be done in an underground facility on the island.
		Both TC&M and McCelvey Associates (MAI) are the Landscape Architects of this project. Services were begun by TC&M and assigned to MAI in April 2001. TC&M and MAI are separate companies.
